Kale adopted his grandfather’s Welsh Terrier puppy, Maggie, who became his constant companion on sea adventures.
From small boats to large ships, Maggie accompanied Kale on every outing. Although she was a slow learner as a puppy, she grew into a seasoned seafaring dog.

Excited by the sights and sounds of the ocean, Maggie eagerly joined Kale on tuna fishing trips, often traveling up to 600 miles offshore. Her enthusiasm was evident when she spotted a sea lion wagging her tail with delight.
Maggie’s curiosity and love for new experiences made her an adventurous spirit, relishing every boat ride, even in challenging weather conditions.

Maggie adapted well to the rough seas, learning to balance herself with ease. Her presence was a source of joy for Kale, who cherished her companionship on these extended fishing trips, which could last from two weeks to a month.
Each day, Maggie followed the crew’s routine, waking up at 3 a.m., joining them for breakfast, and participating in their daily tasks.
The crew appreciated Maggie’s cheerful demeanor and friendly nature. She became a beloved part of the team, providing both companionship and a boost to morale.

Kale valued these fishing trips for the adventure and the joy of sharing them with Maggie.
