While they occasionally encounter kind individuals who offer them a few moments of kindness, more often, they are met with indifference or even cruelty. Some, like the dog in this story, risk their lives by venturing into traffic, hoping for a bit of food.
Love Furry Friends is an organization dedicated to rescuing stray and abandoned animals. Its founder, Olena, has always had a deep affection for animals and works tirelessly to create a safe haven for them, hoping to eventually find them permanent homes.
Olena faces a daunting challenge—her area is home to over 20,000 stray dogs, and the numbers are growing every year. The shelters are all full, which means many dogs are left to fend for themselves, enduring harsh winters and scorching summers.
Despite these challenges, Olena does everything she can to help. She offers food, water, treats, vaccinations, and ensures that the dogs are spayed or neutered. “I want to inspire others to care for animals and to not be afraid to extend help and love,” she shares on her YouTube channel.
When a particular distressed dog noticed someone approaching, he rushed toward the car seeking assistance. Olena, seeing the need, stopped and provided food. Another hesitant dog soon approached, less friendly but with eyes bearing a silent plea for help.
After her attention to the first dog, Olena made sure both had plenty of food. Living in a desolate area with little activity, these dogs would often go days without a meal if not for her intervention. She also gave them water to keep them hydrated. Although the wary black and brown dog kept his distance, he appreciated the nourishments she provided.
Though it’s not a perfect fix, at least it ensures they do not sleep hungry. One viewer on YouTube commented, “Love knows no boundaries! Thanks so much for your unconditional love and compassion for feeding these and other lovely stray furry friends,” expressing gratitude for Olena’s efforts.
