It’s believed she was pregnant at the time, as the arrival of numerous offspring suggests she gave birth shortly after being abandoned. She endured an entire month without sustenance.
Incredibly, she and her two tiny offspring managed to survive despite facing daunting odds.
The mother, though connected to her babies, had no milk to offer them and was severely anemic, her body weakened further by a severe infestation of worms.
Her determination was evident as she struggled to move.
Realizing her dire state, a group set out in search of her last night. The smell from her decaying body was overwhelming, and it was clear she was on the brink of death.
In response, the team provided immediate care. They administered medication, gave her saline, cleaned her wounds, and worked to remove the worms.
They offered her a mattress to rest on. However, she refused to eat or drink, possibly due to obstructions in her throat or jaw caused by a large insect.
Her condition worsened by the presence of small insects on her gums, pear, hands, and hips, alongside a scab on her hip.
Despite these challenges, the babies were in better shape, free from any bugs, and began eating. They received flea treatment and deworming medication.
