Each day can bring an unexpected opportunity to rescue an animal in distress, and it takes individuals with a keen eye and compassionate heart to make a difference when that chance arises.
Veteran animal rescuers are familiar with this truth and have honed their skills to respond swiftly. Such was the case for Kris, a rescuer from California, who promptly intervened when she noticed a small puppy tied up outside a trailer home.
Within a short span, a group of dedicated volunteers mobilized to provide the necessary aid to the frightened puppy in need.

Kris Kelly, the founder of The Kris Kelly Foundation, was moved by the news that the young dog had been left tethered for several days.
In her quest for immediate help, she reached out to Suzette Hall from Logan’s Legacy. Hall, who was nearby on another rescue mission with her colleague, Arturo, quickly diverted her focus to assist in saving the puppy.
Despite being engaged in rescuing chickens that day, Hall showed remarkable adaptability. She and Arturo hurried to the trailer, yet upon arrival, they could not spot the puppy.

Undeterred, they thoroughly checked the area for any indication of the pup’s whereabouts. Eventually, they approached the trailer and knocked on the door.
The man who answered asserted ownership of the puppy but was surprisingly willing to let him go without any hesitation.
“We couldn’t see him outside, so we decided to knock. We were determined to get him. The owner didn’t hesitate; he simply asked if we wanted him.

Within minutes, he was safe with us. It was shocking to see just how tiny he was,” Hall explained in a post.
The puppy, named Remi, was visibly scared but soon found comfort in Hall’s arms. Up until then, fear had gripped him, but now he was calm, acknowledging he was finally in safe hands.
Hall was relieved to know Remi’s challenges were over. Once in her vehicle, he seemed ready to embrace the new chapter of his life.

At a veterinary clinic, Remi was found to have a mild skin condition called mange, which required only a few days of treatment.
Fortunately, Hall had coordinated a recovery spot for Remi. The Forgotten Dog Foundation welcomed him into a foster home, offering a nurturing environment where he could recuperate fully and receive attention and care.

“He is an absolute sweetheart. I am so grateful to The Forgotten Dog for opening up your loving haven to him. And a huge thank you to Kris. This little one is now forever safe and receives all he needs,” Hall expressed with gratitude.
Now free from the chains of his past, Remi is experiencing affection, joy, and protection for the first time. As he awaits the right family to adopt him, he is cherishing the newfound love, safety, and freedom he has long deserved.
