A street dog named Lawson lived on the outskirts of Istanbul, struggling for survival after being hit by a car, which left his back legs paralyzed. As a one-year-old pup, he had to drag himself around to find food, worsening the injuries to his legs.
Fortunately, Lawson’s life changed when He’art of Rescue discovered him. The organization, dedicated to helping the most vulnerable and often ignored stray animals in Turkey, couldn’t turn their backs on his courageous spirit.
Lawson bore the scars of his struggles, with scabs and sores on his legs from moving across the ground. Even though his spine could not be healed, the team equipped him with a wheelchair, giving him the chance to learn how to walk again.
In his new wheelchair, Lawson’s life took a turn for the better. The cheerfulness in his eyes and his smiles were signs that he felt safe and cared for. Just a few days after his rescue, he began taking his first steps with his new wheels.
Soon, Lawson mastered navigating with his wheelchair, swiftly moving around and playing with other dogs in his new environment.
