Earlier today, a severely malnourished dog was discovered in the parking lot of the KHS facility.
A visitor dropping off donations noticed the struggling animal and quickly informed the staff, who wasted no time in taking the dog to their Veterinary Services department for immediate treatment.
The team named the dog Ethan and began their efforts to save his life by wrapping him in heated blankets and administering warm IV fluids.

Ethan was extremely frail, unable even to lift his head, and is believed to be one of the thinnest dogs the staff has encountered that was still alive.
Ethan’s condition was critical; he weighed only 38 pounds, far below the expected weight of around 80 pounds for a dog his size.

His skin clung tightly to his bones, revealing the full extent of his muscle loss and dehydration as his body endured extreme starvation. To make matters worse, Ethan was covered in filth from feces and urine.
However, with diligent care, a thorough cleaning, and special medical attention, Ethan’s condition has begun to improve. His transformation, both in health and appearance, is a testament to the dedicated efforts of the KHS staff.

Ethan’s journey is not yet over, but thanks to the quick action and care of the KHS team, he has a fighting chance at recovery.
