Meet the Man Who Devotes His Life to Rescuing Unadoptable Senior Dogs

Last Update:

After the loss of his beloved dog, Steve Greig found solace in the idea of making a positive impact. Fueled by his grief, he embarked on a mission to provide a loving home for senior dogs who often struggle to find adopters.

“I still felt so horrible about it,” Greig recalls his grief. “I decided that the only way I would feel better was if something good happened that probably wouldn’t have happened if he had not died.”

Choosing to focus on dogs deemed “least adoptable,” Greig welcomed a 12-year-old Chihuahua with health issues as his first rescue.

This began a heartwarming journey that saw him opening his doors to senior dogs often overlooked in shelters.

Today, Greig is a devoted father figure to ten elder rescue dogs and a pig, chicken, and turkey.

His days start at 5 am, preparing individualized meals for his diverse animal family, each with unique dietary needs.
