In Greece, a volunteer with OrphanPet came across a dog named Blossom in dire need of help. Blossom had been surviving on the streets for several weeks, if not months, and was in poor health.
Her distress was evident; a chain wire had tightly wrapped around her tail, causing it to swell painfully.

Adding to her troubles, Blossom was infested with thousands of ticks. These parasites had seriously affected her health by thinning her blood, putting her in a life-threatening situation.
Recognizing the urgency, the rescuers knew they had to act swiftly to save her life.
After bringing Blossom in, the team provided a crucial blood transfusion and, due to the severity of her tail injury, decided that amputation was necessary.

They methodically removed the ticks one by one, a painstaking process that took almost a week to complete.
Blossom’s recovery has been nothing short of a dramatic transformation. She has bounced back to excellent health and made new dog companions along the way.
In a heartwarming turn of events, Blossom has been adopted into a loving forever home, where she is thriving with a renewed lease on life.

This happy ending was made possible thanks to the dedication of OrphanPet’s compassionate volunteers, who saved her just in time.
