When Phoenix arrived at the shelter, he was terrified, wary that he might be further harmed. Medical examinations quickly revealed a serious infection, prompting his treatment that very day.
Despite suffering from malnutrition and constant hunger, Phoenix was so unwell that he barely ate. His physical condition was frail, matched only by his woeful state of mind.
