As cars patiently waited, the elephant repeated the motion several times before calmly moving on and continuing its journey down the road.

Michelle Broadhurst, 49, captured the humorous moment, and Jacques Joubert, 55, during their visit to the park.

Jacques shared their experience: “We spend much time in Kruger, focusing on wildlife photography, especially elephants. We were on one of our self-drive game drives when we spotted this elephant.”

They had been observing three bull elephants drinking water, with two wandering in different directions. The third remained near the road, foraging.

“This was a large elephant, and they always dominate the scene,” Jacques explained. “We’ve seen similar behavior in other visits, especially when older or larger elephants encounter a steep incline or decline. It seems to be a bit of a challenge for them.”

Jacques added that the elephant likely preferred a different path but was surrounded by vehicles, leaving it no other option.

Despite this, the animal’s unexpected stretching routine was memorable for everyone in the area.
