At the Little Buckets Farm Sanctuary, owned by Susan Klingenberg, a heartwarming friendship has blossomed between a dog named Colton and a newborn donkey, Willow. When Willow’s mother, Olive, gave birth, Colton was captivated by the arrival of the tiny foal.
Colton’s gentle nature shone through when she greeted Willow with a tender kiss, though Olive was initially protective of her newborn.

It didn’t take long for Olive to realize that Colton posed no threat to her baby, and soon, she allowed Willow to explore the farm under Colton’s watchful eye.
As Willow grew, she developed a close bond with Colton, often spending time with her new companion.

The baby donkey seemed to view Colton as an older sibling, fascinated by her wagging tail and playful demeanor.
Colton, in turn, was always by Willow’s side, never leaving her alone. The two became inseparable, sharing their days at the sanctuary.
Susan noted that Colton has a special ability to connect with all the animals at the farm, showing a deep understanding of their needs.

Colton’s affection for Willow is just one example of her caring nature, as she often walks with the young donkey and enjoys playing with her. Their bond is a beautiful testament to the unspoken love and care that can exist between animals.
