A small dog was rescued after being found floating off the Gulf of Mexico, thanks to couples enjoying their annual birthday tradition.

The group spotted the Jack Russell terrier while on their boat near Hernando Beach.

Initially, they mistook the tiny figure in the water for a buoy. However, when they noticed it moving, they realized it was a dog and quickly approached to help.

Wearing a small life vest, the dog was pulled aboard and safely brought back to shore. It was later discovered that the dog had been missing for at least three hours before being found.

Upon returning to land, the dog’s owner was filled with joy at seeing his beloved pet, calling out the dog’s name, Jagermeister.

Although it was the couple’s birthday celebration, Jagermeister and his owner received the best gift of the day.
