They quickly arrived at the scene, knowing the rescue could be challenging. Mingo might jump into the cold pond if startled.

Kathleen took a cautious approach, offering snacks to the hungry dog and patiently waiting for the right moment to secure a leash around Mingo’s neck.

After several attempts, Kathleen succeeded, and they brought Mingo to their animal rescue shelter.

At the shelter, Mingo was still very frightened. She barked constantly and avoided human touch, with her tail tucked between her legs.

She even refused treats from her rescuers. Hanah and Kathleen knew that gaining Mingo’s trust was essential to finding her a loving home.

They decided to introduce Mingo to Ralphy, a small, energetic, and affectionate dog. After a few sniffs, Mingo began to wag her tail and quickly grew fond of Ralphy.

This interaction marked a turning point for Mingo, who started to see dogs and humans as potential friends.

Gradually, Mingo emerged from her shell and began to play. This was a positive sign for Hanah and Kathleen, though they were still unsure if Mingo would ever allow human touch. Over time, the Husky’s trust in people grew, and she eventually permitted them to pet her.

Mingo’s journey from a scared and hungry dog to a happy and healthy Siberian Husky was remarkable.
