In a remarkable encounter captured on video, a pride of lions took on a massive crocodile in a fierce confrontation over an elephant carcass.
The gripping scene, recently shared online, shows three hungry lions surrounding the crocodile as they prepare for a tense battle to claim their meal. The question looms: which of these powerful predators would come out on top?

Despite the crocodile’s efforts to take control of the feast, the lions successfully defended their meal.
Before retreating, the reptile managed to land a few solid strikes, making it clear that it wouldn’t give up easily.
The confrontation began when the remains of an elephant were found near a lake in Kenya’s Samburu National Reserve.
The video, posted on Reddit, shows one lion initially fending off the aggressive crocodile, which was determined to seize the prize.
As the crocodile bites back, two more lions join the fight, working together to overpower the reptile.
Despite its strength, the crocodile could not fend off the combined attack, leaving one lion with a bloodied leg from the struggle.
Still, the lions’ persistence paid off as they launched another attack, this time grabbing hold of the crocodile’s tail to drag it away. Even though the crocodile tried to escape, the lions pinned it down, biting its feet.
Eventually, the exhausted crocodile gave up and retreated, while the lion that started the fight stood victorious. The rest of the pride returned to their meal, securing the remains of the elephant.
It’s important to remember that most young crocodiles, about 99 percent, typically fall prey to predators like fish, lizards, or even other crocodiles. The few that survive are truly resilient, with jaws that are said to rival the bite force of a T-rex.
