In the bustling town of Villahermosa, Mexico, a local foundation called Caninos 911, AC, led by Maber, received a report about a dog in dire straits.
The dog, named Coronel, was suffering from a severe case of transmissible venereal tumor (TVT), a condition that had left him in terrible shape.
Physically frail and emotionally distressed, Coronel had been abandoned by his family, waiting outside what he thought was still his home, hoping for entry that would never come. Fortunately, rescuers stepped in just in time to save him.
Coronel’s story is one of perseverance and loyalty. After his family left him on the streets, nearby residents occasionally offered him some food, but they didn’t provide him a new home.
Despite being neglected, Coronel continued to linger near his former residence, driven by devotion. Eventually, the volunteers, described as “savior angels,” intervened to rescue him.
“The fact that his family deserted him when he was ill broke my heart,” expressed Maber, reflecting on Coronel’s plight.
Upon being taken into care, Coronel underwent a thorough evaluation that confirmed the severity of his TVT. His recovery process started with stabilizing his platelet levels and ensuring a nutritious diet, followed by regular chemotherapy treatments.
Though the road to recovery was lengthy, the unwavering affection and dedication from his carers gradually healed him, transforming his demeanor from one of despair to one of renewed hope.
As Coronel slowly regained his health, his spirits lifted. His journey through therapy was marked by the relentless efforts of medical professionals, and over time, he began to thrive.
His face no longer showed sadness; instead, it reflected a newfound joy and contentment.
Finally, after enduring suffering and trials, Coronel was ready to leave the past behind. He met his new family—the match he had been waiting for all along—and instantly, there was a heartfelt connection. This loving home became his sanctuary.
Now, Coronel enjoys a life brimming with love and care. His new family showers him with attention, taking him on adventures and teaching him new skills, such as swimming.
