While out jogging in the scorching 40-degree heat, a compassionate woman came across a dog lying lifelessly in the middle of the road.
Upon closer inspection, she noticed a large wound near the dog’s tail, indicating the animal was in severe pain. Overwhelmed by the sight, she was moved to help.
Reflecting on the encounter, the woman expressed her disbelief, stating, “I guessed she had been lying there for quite some time. How could anyone come across a suffering creature like this without help?”
As she continued to investigate, she heard the distressed cries of puppies nearby. Following the sound, she found the puppies lying on the muddy ground, seemingly hungry and missing their mother.
With urgency, she called for a car to transport both the injured dog and her puppies to a veterinarian.
The situation at the vet was critical. The mother dog, later named Maya by her rescuer, was panting heavily, suffering from a severe infection in her lower abdomen, as well as anemia and dehydration.
The veterinary team quickly provided first aid and started a transfusion to stabilize her condition.
The puppies were also weak from hunger. The woman noted how difficult it was to feed them because they often choked and cried while drinking milk.
Saddened, she mused, “What was wrong with them having to go through such things when they were just born? Thankfully, my presence saved them from probable death.”
Four days later, Maya began to regain consciousness and immediately looked around for her puppies, demonstrating the strong bond of motherhood.
Once she calmed down, she produced milk for her babies, who eagerly nursed, their cries now filled with relief and happiness.
After more than 20 days of care and recovery, Maya’s wounds healed. The kind woman, who had shown unwavering dedication, brought Maya and her puppies home from the vet.
She had prepared a cozy place for them to live, ensuring they could experience life together in happiness and security.
