The heartbreaking sight of an extremely underweight dog serves as a stark reminder of the challenges faced by stray animals.
Recent accounts from the community mention that this unfortunate animal has been roaming and suffering from severe malnutrition for at least a week.
Despite locals’ attempts to feed him, his body, weakened by prolonged starvation, has been unable to accept nourishment, prompting them to contact our rescue organization, worried about his survival.
When we reached the scene, the severity of the dog’s condition was clear. He could barely stand, visibly exhausted and uncomfortable.
Once vibrant, his coat is now dull and yellowed due to jaundice and infection, both consequences of extreme malnutrition.
Additionally, his skin shows signs of scabies and is infested with fleas, while diarrhea and open sores exacerbate his suffering, attracting flies and producing a foul odor.
As we carried this fragile dog to the veterinary hospital, we could feel the burden of his suffering. Unfortunately, his condition is so delicate that it limits the scope of possible tests or treatments.
For now, he is receiving medication and vitamins with the hope of strengthening his resilience.
While the dog is under continuous care, we are deeply moved by his silent struggle.
Nonetheless, amid the prevailing gloom, a flicker of hope remains—hope that he will respond positively to the treatment and gather the strength needed to overcome the formidable odds.
