Arnia was one of four dogs rescued by “Howl of a Dog,” a small nonprofit animal rescue organization based in Romania. Before her rescue, Arnia and several other dogs lived in a rundown garage yard.
The cold December weather offered little warmth, and the dogs found comfort by sleeping on tiles.
When a volunteer approached to pet Arnia, she was clearly frightened and severely malnourished.
Despite her fragile appearance, Arnia’s name, which means “strong as an eagle,” reflected the resilience she would soon display.
At the time of her rescue, she was severely anemic, dehydrated, and weighed just 6 kilograms (13 pounds), only half of what a dog her size should weigh.
With ongoing care and proper nutrition at the shelter, Arnia’s transformation was remarkable. Though she was around 2-3 years old, she still carried the playful spirit of a puppy. She delighted in playing with her toys and found joy in the simplest things, even her routine vet visits.
On her first walk to the park, Arnia was understandably shy, as it was a completely new experience for her. However, she quickly adapted, learning to understand human commands.
Her playful nature shone through as she eagerly hopped and jumped around with the energy of a young pup.
Recently, Arnia found her forever home with a loving family in Germany, where she continues to thrive.
